I often see players complain about NIT's. Do you think tighter players A.K.A nits are better poker players?

I think players that play tight are likely profitable players, but it doesn't necessarily make them better players. Thoughts?

There used to be this guy that sat at omaha hi low and played real tight and would sit for hours and only play certain hands and from what I had seen he usually always ended up being profitable but I agree with you not sure he was any better then the guy that sat for 30 minutes and made the same profit playing very loose in less then half the time. I think they are both good players in their own ways.

The essence of playing poker is to be winning. Been a better poker players don't really means much to me . Been profitable is what matters most. I will prefer to be bad players while i win. They said that the end justifies the means. Get results is what matters to me!

It's better to be lucky than good, but you can't rely on luck to be profitable.

What you term luck might be strategy which you are not aware of 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Winning is winning, how it comes about should be a story for another day!

Definitely not.

i dont think all tight players will/would be profitable players long term, they have a shot and would play longer than someone that punts but card distribution doesnt really work like that in my experience. there are stages of mtts that require you to play nitty but you also need to know where you can open up and attack also. there is still alot of meat on the bone in poker still, just play to your strengths and find the small 1% edges whether you are a nit or not. gametrees are complex and no one really plays "perfect" poker, this is why i still play mainly. gl out in the streets and crush.

One doesn't even need any level of creativity to play as a nit in poker. That's why I don't rate them high. They are not better poker players. They might seem to play profitable because they always play safe. I rate players to be good when they know the best point to be aggressive and when it is better to bluff.

Being a nit has some advantage, but as good as it sounds, it can also limit your winnings too. It worked for small stakes, but later I realized you can’t win big if you’re too scared.

Playing tight can help you stay profitable but it doesn’t automatically make you a better player. A NIT avoids trouble but they also miss a lot of good spots. To me, a strong player knows when to tighten up and when to open up. Balance matters. Tight players survive longer but the ones who actually adjust to the table are the real threats.

My mood right now lol
It's that time of year. Holiday time. When you have to be nice to people. It's a perfect time for poker players to practice their bluffing skills.
