Live home games are quite different and you get to experience some sort of social interaction that is not found in online games. But I think online home games can be a good substitute, at least when you feel like you are in a friendly environment. Another advantage of online games is that you do not require a lot of time to spend on games.

Our home games online also don't hurt the wallet as much, because they're only $1.10 buy-ins.

I prefer to play live tournament poker at local casinos and cash games at local home games. Home cash games tend to bring looser players that want to be pros.

I prefer playing home games live with some of my family members where we will be interacting and smoking and drinking. What is home game of not to catch fun and get a little tipsy?

I have played poker home games online a few times. But I really prefer home games live. The only advantage that I see with playing home games online is that you guys won't need to bother about logistics. The real challenge with playing home games online is always the difficulty in finding a welcoming online poker community. That's very hard to find from my experience. I still lean more towards live poker for home games.

I usually play online from home, I have tried playing live game at home but since i do not have a lot of friends or family playing Poker, I cannot play live game much.
