I was in a small cash game once and the dealer quietly told a newbie “maybe check here.” and that changed the dynamics of the game instantly. Dealers are supposed to be neutral and be professional. Helping beginners is good, but maybe after the hand, not in the middle of the game. The game is not supposed to turn into a coaching class during live hand

I don't mind dealers explaining how the game works, but no dealers shouldn't give any pointers at the table regardless of skill level. It's bad poker ettiquite.

You are absolutely correct and I stand with you on this. Once a dealer starts suggesting to players, the table has already been compromised. Being neutral is part of his professionalism, anything else is against the rules of the game.

I think so.

It’s actually quite common.

That’s how you get people into the game and get returning patrons.

Help them learn how to spend their money haha

I think it's bad etiquette for dealers to interfere with any hands being played. I could see it being okay at a home game, but not in a casino environment.

I don't think it's a good idea. Dealers role is to run the game fairly and stay neutral. Giving advice can influence decisions, create unfair advantages, and upset other players. If you are new, it’s better to learn outside the hand or from other players.
