If you play while burnt out or mentally drained, I believe it can ruin a good player. Even if you have the skills to succeed, a lack of mental focus can lead to forced mistakes.

I think it’s important to have a routine that works for you so you can maintain the grind over a long period and stay profitable.

Do you think burnout from playing too much poker can ruin a solid player?

Burnout is not a joke at all. It can even destroy the big players. I tried forcing sessions back-to-back during one hot week, thinking more play equals more money. That was a terrible mistake. I keep making worse decisions and my anger was building up. That's the big mistake right there.

I think burnout can absolutely ruin a good player if it’s ignored. When it happens to me, I lose my focus, I also lose my patience, and I end up making small mistakes and that start piling up. Burn out can hurt both results and confidence, even when your underlying skills are still good.
