When i play home game, am relaxed with near zero steam!. Am mostly distracted and somewhat disoriented. I don't play to win but to catch fun with my family members! Psychological, my mind is not in its optimal mode and my concentration is at its lowest. Am not at all bothered about losing or winning.
Do you approach home games with the same seriousness as when you are playing in cash games!

When I am on the table playing poker, home game or not, I always play with the mindset that I am playing poker. I don't easily turn off my competitive nature when I am playing poker home game. I always deploy my best strategies. For home games, I won't really feel pained by a bad beat. But I still do my very best to win even in home poker games.

For me, home games are all fun and a way to spend time with people. I don't put too much emphasis on it. I still try to win but that doesn't mean that I still take it as seriously as I used to because now I would say I play a little more relaxed and mess around a lot more unlike before.

I approach home game just like online casino game or even live casino games. It does not matter if I am playing for cash or without cash, I treat the game with the same level of interest. That's because for me fun element is more important.

I don’t even see them as the same thing. Home games feel like weekend gist with friends. Cash games has different pressure. At home, people are gisting, phones are ringing. You can’t even concentrate properly. So expecting same seriousness is unrealistic. .

I'm not a poker player but what you're describing totally makes sense to me. Home games with family are really just about having fun, bonding, and enjoying time together competition takes a back seat. Your mindset in those situations is completely different from cash games.

I play home games with cash. But my seriousness is somewhat less as compared to playing online or in casino environment.

I try not to treat them exactly the same. I stay disciplined in both, but home games feel more relaxed, while cash games demand tighter focus, stricter bankroll control, and more consistent decision-making under pressure.
