PULSE poker table equipment

Few things are as enjoyable in the poker world as sitting down with friends in a home game and relieving them of their chips. All you need is a case of chips, a pack of playing cards, and a poker table. It is that last requirement that is often a sticking point.

Unless you are fortunate enough to have enough space for a dedicated poker room or have somewhere to store a bulky poker table, you likely have to make do with playing poker around the dining table. While such a playing surface works, in a fashion, it is far from ideal.

Anyone who has played poker from the "comfort" of their dining table will attest to having the hard edges dig into their forearms or the cards sliding off the table onto the floor after an overenthusiastic dealer pitched too hard. This is where PULSE comes in.

Learn More About PULSE
Transform your table!
PULSE, the brainchild of Gordon Lau, is the world's first modular poker rail system. It transforms a standard dining table into a professional poker table in a matter of seconds, with no screws or mechanical parts required.

Comprising only six segments, PULSE uses a US Patent-pending "Gravity-Lock System" to turn your dining room table into a high-end casino experience. Each of the six solid bamboo segments is wrapped in high-density foam and premium microfiber leather, and they connect around the perimeter of your table via hidden magnets. The segments won't slip thanks to the special textured rubber anti-slip base that "bites" into your poker mat's fabric.

PULSE Poker Setup

Once installed, which takes less than 10 seconds, your dining table is suddenly transformed into a casino-quality poker table complete with rails that are approximately 10cm high and 3cm wide, providing comfort for you and your opponents, and acting as a rail to prevent cards from falling onto the floor.

PULSE Poker Table Setup

When the game is over, hopefully with you having profited healthily from your friends, PULSE is easily broken back down to its core segments, which stack neatly into the included duffel bag that can slide under a bed or be placed into a closet until your next home game. No bulky equipment. No hassle, just a poker table whenever and, thanks to it only weighing 9kg (9 lbs), wherever you want one.

Although PULSE is designed to be compatible with standard (180cm x 90cm) and compact (140cm x 70cm) poker mats that you may already own, there is a PULSE Premium Mat that helps elevate your home game experience. Among its features are a speed cloth surface that enables cards to glide with ease, a non-slip rubber base, and all-important sound dampening to reduce the noise of slamming chips.

PULSE also offers a premium 43mm ceramic, casino-grade chip set, and decks of PULSE premium plastic playing cards.

You can find out more about PULSE via its dedicated Kickstarter page, where you can back the project in addition to receiving a healthy discount before the game-changing product starts to hit the shelves.

I actually like this idea. Anybody that have used dining table to play poker know the pain. Cards are flying, elbow are painful, even the drinks can pour on chips because the table wasn't what it was supposed to be.
