  1. Focus and Discipline: Despite the fatigue, they maintain sharp focus and discipline. Every decision at the table counts, and they can't afford to let tiredness cloud their judgment.
  2. Mental Resilience: Insomnia can test their mental strength. They learn to push through the exhaustion, relying on their experience and instincts to make the right moves.
  3. Adaptability: The ability to adapt to different situations is crucial. They might face opponents who are well-rested, so they need to stay one step ahead, using their knowledge and strategies to outplay them.
  4. Emotional Control: Keeping emotions in check is vital. The highs and lows of poker can be intense, and insomnia can amplify these feelings. Successful players manage their emotions, staying calm and composed under pressure.
  5. Strategic Thinking: Insomnia can lead to creative thinking. Some players find that their minds work differently during the late hours, allowing them to come up with unconventional strategies and plays.
  6. Community and Support: Many insomniac poker players find camaraderie in the poker community. Sharing experiences and tips with fellow players helps them stay motivated and connected.
It's a tough but fascinating world. Have you ever experienced something similar, or are you just curious about the mindset of these night owls?

Cool thread @rodvney67, ive been an insomniac most of my adult life, 1st job out of school i was a chef that worked breakfast/evening splits so there was only a few hours downtime in the early morning, anyhow....i can grind 24hours + often and the longer the sessions go the better i get it feels like, it sounds crazy playing like that but if im cashing i get adrenaline pumping through and i just fire away. ive won multiple mtts after 24-36hour grinds my biggest wins most likely. being in New Zealand probably helps the longer grinds as the main mtts on most sites run from midnight to 7am for me. also i have a strong mental game and rarely tilt with good BRM. i know its unique and i play to its strengths

Those poker players suffering from insomnia are really very excellent people. They maintain their concentration and discipline even though they are very fatigued. They adapt and remain alert in making wise decisions even in exhaustion.
