    What are the best qualities of a good poker player?

    Someone who goes in to play and makes it a priority. If you see someone with a beer in their hand or playing with their social buddies, they're there for entertainment with a chance of winning. It's the loners who are into the game that are there to win.

    I try to stay focused. I use a to-do list to keep myself focused. TODOIST. Great app, and it keeps me on time with everything. I do WAY too much!

    I think a lot of it is luck, especially in casinos. Most casino games are developed to give the house the advantage over the player. But it's the only way they stay in business! Casinos are really for entertainment more than anything.

    Any advice for people under 30?

    Consider investing in your future. Whether it's a savings account, gold and silver, IRA, 401K, or even the stock market - try to start gaining interest on savings so when retirement happens, you have something waiting for you. I'm finally doing that now... At 40!

    Hate to hear that. Is there anything online that you can do that allows you to cope with your issues healthily?

    Casino Food

    I think casinos go wrong there. Most of them go for the fancy restaurant type of dining. Just serve bar food: burgers, wings, fried cheese, stuff like that - slightly above regional prices if you want to make a little bit more profit.

    I'm 40. I wish I would have partied less, ate better, and exercised more frequently. Shedding weight is way harder after 30 than it is before that. It's easy not to do it, too, because life is busier.

    I work full-time as a casino surveillance investigator. I work "part-time" doing my side gigs. Most of them are blogging, guided hiking services, and freelance writing.

    What's the hardest job you ever did?

    Coal mining. It's hard labor. A lot of shoveling. You breath in coal dust all shift long. It's loud. It's extremely dangerous. I did it for 3 years in my early 20s. I don't miss that job at all!

    Many many many times. I used to get drunk every night in my 20s. I started taking better care of myself in my 30s and slowly started drinking less and less. I'm 40 today and am happy to say that I haven't drunk any alcohol in quite a few months. I don't miss it. I haven't been drunk in years...

    Yep. The last job I worked at, after 13 years, I put in my 2 weeks notice and quit without a job waiting for me. It was because of they leadership taking advantage of me. They knew what they were doing, too. I was dedicated and they have never been able to replace that dedication. It's hurting...

    Many times. I definitely grew up as a kid with verbal abuse and physical discipline that would definitely be considered abuse by today's standards. It really didn't mess me up but it did make me very independent. As an adult, I've been verbally abused many times during my career in security...

    Witnessing a cheat

    We usually detect around cheating about once a month or something like that. We're a smaller casino, though. We're definitely not Vegas-big even though we belong to a parent company that has a lot of houses in Vegas.

    Should dealers be allowed to play at casinos when off work?

    I always hate that. The dealer can't control the game. I suppose unless they cut the deck in half if they suspect a card counter in something like Blackjack or something like that.
