What are the best qualities of a good poker player?

The best qualities of a poker player is don't let your eyes give you away. Don't bluff unless you at least have some kind of hand and don't just assume you have the best hand but try and check the tell-tell signs that your opponent may have a better hand. Your opponent could have a good hand but...

How do you play poker smartly?

Smartest way to play is to only bet when you have a hand but sometimes you have to fold em. You can't always stay just to see the cards. As I said before some people just bet money so they can see the cards and try and get a hand on the turn and river. Really just stay if you have a decent hand.

What was the first thing you learnt in poker?

The first thing I learned is if your going to bluff, don't do it often. I've seen on TV some people bluff their way to a pot but if you do it a lot your bound for someone to call the bluff and doing it again wouldn't work out too well.

Is high IQ needed to succeed in poker?

I don't think a high IQ makes too much of a difference but just as long as you don't have a low IQ. If you have a low IQ then that could make the difference where you wouldn't be able to win very many hands. People who stay to the river card but draw dead and just bet to see the cards usually...

How do you read someone in poker?

What turn they bet on is really the best way to read someone but some people will check to throw you off and then re-raise if you raise. Check re-raising is a good strategy sometimes but other times it leads to everyone folding and not having a big pot you won.

Do you drink/smoke when you play poker?

No I haven't drinked or smoked while playing but some people who come to the table drunk is a bad idea. If your drunk, you don't have any business playing poker for money but the casinos like taking your money so they don't stop you.

How much have you lost on playing poker?

The most I've lost in one night is probably somewhere between $20 and $30 playing nickel, dime, quarter poker. I've never played high stakes because I wouldn't want to risk losing a lot.

    Playing for fun or money?

I don't play for money just for fun but I used to play where you can bet up to a quarter. You can win about $30 max in a night and the most you can lose is about the same.

Have you ever staked anyone or been staked to play online?

I've never played online poker for actual money. I have played just for fun but I wouldn't want to risk losing money in real life. That would be so hard.
