I usually take breaks during downswings if I don’t make a good run after a few bullets. But when I’m winning, I’m usually motivated to keep playing and keep the momentum going.

How about you, do you take breaks during downswings or keep grinding through them?

If you are winning, it could make you feel like you can beat anyone. That kind of feeling boost your confidence and you would be seeing opportunities everywhere which might not even be there in the first place.

Agreed, but winning players understand that variance is a part of poker and that you can't win them all. Discipline, along with good decision-making, helps maximize results, which can be harder to maintain during a downswing and when you're feeling a little frustrated.

When I start losing and when my bankroll goes below 50 percent, I immediately stop. However, when I am winning I am motivated to stay on the table. Wins are certainly motivating. I also believe that you stop stop when you have won a certain amount.

If I lost half my bankroll in one session, I'd be furious. I'm much stricter with my bankroll management than that, and I prefer risking only a small percentage of my bankroll when I play tournaments. I play better when I don't have that added pressure.
