I am one person that prefers action-packed poker games. With that in mind, I would always prefer a 6-max. The sheer aggression and quick thinking that it demands is the draw for me. More hands are played and the game moves in a very fast pace. That's always quite exciting for me.

I usually stick to 8 or 9 max too. Slower structures let you pick your spots and avoid forcing moves too early. 6 max can be fun, but it’s more aggressive and you have to act fast. I like having a bit more time to read the table and plan my plays.

I am at best an amateur poker player and I prefer the slower pace of a 9-max table. There is reduced pressure to open up your ranges earlier. And in 9-max also, you are not obligated to be very tight with your opening hands. And then you also talk about the social connections in having a full table.

I like having a bit more time to read the table and plan my plays.
I agree on having more time to build strong reads. However, with only 6 players at your table, it's a little bit easier to develop better reads.

I don't mind 6 max, but only when the blinds/levels are slower. 8/9 max will always be my preferred choice for tournaments.
