If you take a look at some betting sites, you will notice that they have start replacing bet with market. The change in terminology started with betfair and other bet exchange sites but now most bookmarkers have adopted it.
In your opnion, do you see betting as a market? In my opinion, bet can never be a market. The change in terminology is used by bookmarkers to distract users from been mindful that they are gambling!
 
Betting is all about the odds and stakes which we exchange with one another, which may be similar for trading, yet I do not think it is totally equivalent to being a classical market.
