Does music help you focus and play better poker?

Music doesn't always help me get in my zone, but I often find when I listen to music while I play, usually I play better.

Thoughts? Does listening to music while you play help your game?

I don't listen to music while playing poker. I prefer to talk and listen to poker players jab and silly jokes. Music is a full time distraction to me while playing poker.

I like to listen to music when I am playing poker and it helps me to relax and get in the proper mood in place. But still, I enjoy instrumental music, not hiphop, which could affect me while playing because I'll be grooving and lose concentration.

If I were playing live poker, I probably wouldn’t listen to music. I might miss my turn because I couldn’t hear properly. Online, though, I love listening to music while I play since that’s not an issue.

Well, I agree. It doesn’t do much for the zone, but it does wonders for the mindset as it pretty much takes the stress out of the game….. at least for me it does

Even though I enjoy listening to music while playing, I don't think music actually helps me with my game..At least I haven’t experienced this

Music is certainly better than having people talk too much at the table. But I don't find music helping with my play. Sometimes loud music is too much distraction
