From my experience with being into playing poker for years, no player likes to lose. It gets worse when the player is on a losing streak. When you look at the player, he will look depressed right on seat.

Have you ever felt unhappy as a result of how your playing went with losing or do you make up your mind on what you can lose before playing?

I've got into arguments with my parents years over ago over poker, and my aspirations of being a entrepreneur in the online poker world.
They both fully support my dreams now, and like seeing me work hard towards my goals.

I almost never gamble and if I do its $5 on the lotto every once in a blue moon. Mostly because I don't want to lose any money. I live on a fixed income and there is no way that I can afford to lose any amount of money.

I myself am strictly a micro gambler. For me, I really a ameteur you could say but I know ahead of time what stake I can play comfortably with not risking more then I want. If I lose a tournament, but played my best, I am satisfied with my play.

At times, theres the ONE PLAY that would of put my stack up but I EITHER folded or I called, but not really feeling the win, and should of folded, and lose, THEN I get unhappy with my play, and I know I should of went with my gut feeling. and then I am unhappy with how I played. You can't WIN it if your NOT in it.

Gambling has.... put cracks into my family. If my mom could have afforded it, she would have divorced my dad over his gambling.

I understood the risk that is involved with gambling, and that meant that I never put in the money that I was not willing to lose at all.

my other half gets annoyed with me playing as thinks I am not interacting but watching channel surfing is boring as & generally not interested in what they r. I am on fixed income, so I am conscious of my spending, also have family/friends who have problems & dont want to b like that, so have learned by their mistakes.

Honestly, no. My wife and I don't always hit the casino together, but we generally do, and those are always fun nights out. So, not friction, just good memories.

Funny story from when I was young: me and two of my brothers were playing poker and my grandmother's kitchen table. She walks in to get some wine, sees us, and turns around the little statue of St. Anthony and said something like "so he can't see you playing". (Pretty sure she was joking because she'd visit the casinos at least once a year.) 😅

Yeah.

Earlier on in marriage, I got into slots and would spend up to $100 a day (obviously keeping the upper end of that, even if I "lose").

The manager knew my wife and would call her when I got in the slot room.

It came down to that it wasn't that my wife was mad that I was playing or spending money, but rather that I was spending time away from her.

Things are all good now though. :)
