Have you ever caught someone cheating during a poker game, and how did you handle that situation?

I'm talking about card marking, collusion with another player, or sneaking chips - anything shady. Did you call them out right there at the table, or handle it quietly afterward? And was it in a casual home game with friends where confronting them felt super awkward, or at a casino where you could get staff involved? I imagine catching someone cheating creates this really tense moment where you have to decide whether to make a scene or let it slide. What did you end up doing?

Yes only at a home game though, never at a legitimate establishment

I can't say I have caught anyone cheating at official poker games that take place at licensed establishments, but whenever I have played poker for fun at home with family, I have experienced it. That doesn't bother me too much as it is playing for fun, but in a proper game of poker for real money, I would be completely against any kind of cheating.

I can't let anyone cheat at an official poker game without them facing the consequences. That's what I always stand against because it is more like letting evil continue.

I haven't caught anyone cheating when playing poker. If I ever do, I'll definitely make sure to alert the management in charge if they are not aware. It's totally wrong to cheat just because a player wants to win.

Are you talking about playing poker offline? I asked because there are times when people go as far as doing all sorts of things. After all, they aim to win in the poker game.

I mostly play with friends and family and I have a cousin who frequently cheats. Since it is an informal game, we don't mind if we catch him. We do ask him to return money, though.

Yes, it's exactly what I'm talking about. I enjoy playing both online and offline. So, people definitely choose to cheat even when playing offline poker. There are some who can't stop stealing and cheating.

Not during a poker game. The people I’ve played with live have either been honest players in home games or in closely monitored casino environments. If anyone were caught cheating or colluding online, they’d be removed from the poker forums immediately.

Cheating can cause instant chaos. I remember one small home game I was playing, one guy was always winning suspiciously. Later we catch him signaling his friend, that night was bloody. 🤣

I play Poker mostly online and I haven't found anyone cheating. Well, I have also played offline but I haven't experienced any cheating yet.

No one would be happy to discover that they are being cheated in a game of poker. So, I clearly understood it if anyone ends I reacting to how they are being treated when playing poker. It is not just fair on anyone at all.
