House rules: necessary or overkill?

House rules are necessary because people would be forced to remember different versions of the same rule once money is involved. Without structure, confusion takes over. That's not really good for the game.
 
I think house rules are definitely necessary. They don't have to be complicated, but having everyone agree on the basics before the game starts avoids confusion and arguments later.
 
We certainly make some rules before we play but we don't keep it overly complicated. We keep it simple so that everyone is comfortable and there is no confusion. Rules are important
 
I think they're definitely necessary, even if they're just a few simple rules. Having everyone agree before the first hand avoids confusion later. It doesn't take away from the fun, it usually prevents unnecessary arguments and keeps the game running smoothly.
