How can I tell if a website is a scam trying to steal my crypto?

I tried to enable that 2FA thing people are talking about and I almost locked myself out and I nearly give up. Why is everything on crypto space complicated like this? I get that security is very important but I dont want to get to where I could lose access by mistake because once that happens, it could be a big issue.
