My longest downswing lasted weeks and I almost convinced myself I'd forgotten how to play. The funny part was that I reviewed my hands later and realized I was still making decent decisions. That's why bankroll management matters.

Variance can be much bigger than most of us expect. That is why I think bankroll management is so important. Even if you're playing well, long losing stretches happen. I'd rather play lower stakes than risk my bankroll on games I can't comfortably afford.
