My biggest annoyance is when people slow everything down unnecessarily. It's better to make whatever decision you want to make and move.

My biggest pet peeve is when someone constantly slows the game down over routine decisions. Taking time for a difficult hand is understandable, but every decision doesn't need to feel like the final table of a major tournament.

I think the most important rule is simple: respect the people at the table. Be honest, act in turn, avoid criticizing other players, and don't argue over every decision. Good etiquette keeps the game enjoyable and makes people want to come back.

Demeaning other players is extremely prohibited at my home games. I don't host home games for people who are only looking towards winning and then running away.
