Founded in 2005, the IMSA is a global organization dedicated to promoting competitive intellectual disciplines. This decision comes after years of tireless advocacy by the World Poker Federation (WPF), which represents over 45 national poker federations worldwide. The announcement was celebrated with a special tournament attended by more than 70 players. Major poker organizations like PokerStars, the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), Suprema Poker, and H2 Club lent their support to the event. Winners were awarded coveted entries to prestigious tournaments, including the Main Events of the Latin America Poker Tour (LAPT), the BSOP, and the São Paulo State Poker Championship (CPH).
