Following the controversy at the last WSOP Main Event, where Jonathan Tamayo, the winner, was reportedly receiving assistance from his rail via a Solver on a laptop, the poker community began calling for tighter regulations.

In response, PokerStars has announced several rule changes that will take effect during the next EPT Barcelona, running from August 26 to September 8. These changes were highlighted by PokerStars Ambassador Kenny Hallaert:

- Shotclocks:
The time for the first action in a hand will be reduced to 15 seconds, down from 30 seconds, though timebanks will still provide 30 seconds each.
- Electronic Devices:
They are considering banning all electronic devices from the table and rail to preserve game integrity.
- Final Table Redraw:
Instead of a redraw at the final 2 or 3 tables, a random breaking order will be implemented starting from the last 5 tables.
- GTO-Solvers/Charts:
the use of GTO-solvers, charts, or similar tools will be prohibited throughout the entire tournament area, including for spectators.

It took them long enough to ban electronic devices from tables. It'll likely start happening at all casino's.
