In poker, a ‘shark' is an experienced player. He’s the one that preys on the less experienced. They're clever, sharp and on the lookout for an edge. Sharks are often tight aggressive players, and wait for good hands, and then hit. If you’re a beginner, when you play against sharks, be careful. However, you don’t have to worry because with practice, you can develop some sharp skills and become a shark yourself.

I've noticed players become timid against solid players, just because a player is a shark, don't be afraid to tangle with big hands.
That's true! A poker shark is a very skilled player. They know the game really well and can beat others so easily. But that doesn't mean we should be scared to play against them.
