Soccer certainly has the most fans. It is played in all countries. Basketball, Football (American), Baseball also have a huge fan base but these sports aren't popular in many countries, so they aren't played widely. Cricket also seem to have a huge fan base because it is being played in some of the world's most populous countries.

If we bring in the World Cup into the mix, it's definitely going to be football. There's no tournament bigger than the World Cup. The whole world tune in whenever the World Cup is going on like it is now.
