It's necessary for the chips to come in different colors because it represent different denominations. This is what makes betting and tracking winnings very easy. Each color corresponds to a specific value. It has to be coloured differently to avoid confusion.

These are the different colours and their denomination:

- White: $1
- Red: $5
- Blue: $10
- Green: $25
- Black: $100
 
Are black chips always worth the most whenever playing live?
I’m sure your right black value is more in online and live poker I’m sure it’s right I know I ain’t been to no live poker casino but online poker the black worths more
