You might have noticed a lot of people, even when they are doing exceptionally well in the beginning, go nuts at the final table. Is it pure variance, or does tightening up too much make strong hands obvious? What about you, do you go nuts? How does final-table pressure change how your opponents play against you?

It often feels that way due to variance and sample size. At final tables, pots are bigger and players are more cautious, so strong hands collide more often. Memory bias also makes bad outcomes stand out more than routine wins.

Final tables change everything. It’s rarely just variance, pressure makes players tighten up or overreact, making patterns obvious.

Final table pressure is never a joke at all 😭 I remember one small online session I played, I was leading early but as we reached the end I just start overthinking every move like I was in the exam hall. 🤣 That “fear to lose” alone can affect your hands.. Some players just tighten too much and become predictable. Meanwhile others just go all in.

Life is like a game of poker: it is not about what cards you are dealt, but how you play them.
