Racking up high assists in the World Cup is a very difficult task. In the history of World Cup tournament, FIFA recorded Raymond Kopa to have 9 assists at the 1958 World Cup and Pelé with 6 assists at the 1970 World Cup.

Bruno Fernandes broke the EPL assists record last season with getting 21 assists. He's most likely going to win the EPL PFA award and part of the team leaders in Portugal.

Since this is Bruno Fernandes first world Cup and probably his last, I don't see him being able to break the assist record in the world cup. But that record is long overdue to be broken already.

Bruno is an amazing player but World Cup football is a different beast. This is because you only get a handful of matches and one bad day can send your team home. People are comparing league football with tournament football too much. I wont say it's impossible, but he'll need teammates to finish almost every chance.

Bruno Fernandes was completely a big trash in the World Cup. He looked like a different player for Manchester United and Portugal. In fact, he was more interested in making back and side passes throughout the games than pass upfront.
