Thread 'Fight Breaks Out Between Dealer and Player at Michigan Poker Room'

A poker game in Michigan turned physical after a player and dealer got into a heated argument over the blind level during a low-stakes tournament. According to , the incident happened at the Davison Poker Room in Davison, Michigan, during a $20 rebuy No-Limit Hold'em tournament. The dispute started when player Eric Knopp, also known as "Bobby," questioned whether he owed a 4,000 or 6,000-chip big blind. Knopp argued that the deck had already been cut before the blinds increased. The...

Thread 'Should We Add Player Staking to PPC?'

One of the features I'd like to implement on PlayPoker.community is zero-risk player staking for backers. If a player cashes in a tournament they were staked for, the backers would automatically be credited with their agreed-upon share of the winnings. Horses could set their staking terms before requesting a stake, while backers could openly browse and choose which players they want to support. Thoughts? I know ACR has a staking system, although it was implemented after I stopped playing...

Thread 'Should We Allow All Players to Use HUDs on PPC?'

As we continue building PPC, one topic we need to decide on is whether HUDs (Heads-Up Displays) should be allowed for all players. HUDs can provide useful information such as VPIP, PFR, aggression, and other betting tendencies. Some players feel they improve decision-making, while others believe they create an unfair advantage, especially for newer or less experienced players. Should PPC allow all players to use HUDs, or should we limit/ban HUDs to keep the games more accessible and...

Thread 'PPC Player of the Month'

Should we add a PPC Players of the Month feature? Maybe we could have separate trophies for cash game players and tournament players. We could base it on win rate, overall profit, or another metric. I’m open to ideas and would love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

Thread 'Should PPC Add a Chat Ban Feature?'

As we continue developing the PlayPoker software, I’m considering adding a feature that would allow admins or moderators to chat ban individual players. A chat ban would prevent a player from sending messages in the lobby or table chat while still allowing them to play normally. This could be useful for dealing with spam, excessive trash talk, harassment, or players who repeatedly violate chat rules without needing to remove them from the game entirely. I’m curious what everyone thinks...

Thread 'One WSOP Main Event Finalist Lost Over Half His Winnings to Taxes'

Winning a million-dollar payday at the WSOP sounds like a dream come true, but for one 2026 Main Event finalist, the tax bill took an enormous bite out of his winnings. The nine finalists of this year's WSOP Main Event collectively won $30.25 million, but according to an analysis by poker player and federally licensed tax professional Russell Fox, more than $12.2 million will go to tax authorities. The biggest hit came for Jamie Shaevel, who finished seventh for $1.5 million. Fox estimates...

Thread 'WSOP Removes Shot Clock for 2026 Main Event Final Table'

The World Series of Poker has changed course and announced that the shot clock will not be used at the 2026 WSOP Main Event final table. The decision comes after tournament officials introduced shot clocks late in the Main Event for the first time in the tournament's history. The change was made following lengthy tanking incidents deep in the event, with the goal of keeping the action moving and improving the viewing experience. However, after discussions with players and tournament staff...
