Do you ignore bankroll management, and take chances in bigger buy-ins when on a heater?

I usually don't like to take shots in bigger buy-ins unless I satellite into a tournament, or if I won a decent amount of cash for the day. Even then, I usually stick to what I normally play.

Bankroll management actually defines a player. A poor player with good bankroll management can achieve better than a professional who don't know how to manage his gambling fund.

I would never abandon bankroll management because I am winning. I don't allow myself to feel invisible to do that. No matter how good I am playing and winning, I stick to my regular buy-ins. I understand the angle of taking shots but I am not just cut out for that.

If my bankroll can comfortably handle losing three or four of those buy-ins and I am certain that my main games are untouched, I would take a wild gamble at a bigger game. It is not bad to launch into the deep sometimes. If I win, that is good. If I lose, I move and go back to my normal stakes.

There are so many people that has fallen victim of this. You win today, and it gets you excited, next thing it's bigger buy-in because you feel that luck is on your side. For me, I don't trust that feeling again. One bad session can wipe all your money before you even blink.

Some people play more when they're losing, as opposed to grinding more during a good run. Staying within your limits is important for long-term success, especially after a big win. That being said, I do think it's okay to take shots after a big score if you're disciplined enough to move back down if you don't cash.
