What have you learned from your experiences playing poker that helped your game?

I learned the hard way without bankroll management you will fail in the long run if you don't have discipline. It's important to develop good habits if you want to be a winning player for the long-term.

I learned to read people better, not necessarily when they're lying, but people have tells when they are "white lying".

I picked up on those cues and can apply them to regular conversations to determine whether something they're saying is exaggerated BS or not.

This is a very good lesson I have learned also. Without the proper planning and discipline, one is bound to fail. You just can't dive into the game all the time hoping luck will always roll out in your favor.

Lots of lessons are available to learn from Poker. It taught me discipline, bankroll management, and emotional control. I don't only apply these skills to poker alone; I use it in other areas of my life, too.

What i learned is that poker game or any other gambling can never be source of income. You will be under severe pressure to win and that's when the problem starts because you will be psychological unstable to deliver. Therefore, i play for fun and if i win, i thank God.

There are a lot of life lessons to learn from poker because poker teaches real life skills. I am also trying to hone my skills in poker so that I can develop some arithmetical skills. The ability to weigh risk and make calculated decisions is something that could be applied to real life.
