I think sites that pay to post like Discussion Bucks are the hardest to make money online.

What do you think is the hardest way to make money online?

I'm not sure. I don't try. lol At least not enough to actually live off of. I've made over $9000 on eBay, but over the course of 25 years. I've made hundreds in donations from members of my sites however, so that's cool. And I made $200 after 2 years of running hardcore adult ads. lol

I concur that sites like the Discussion Bucks can be quite onerous to make reasonable money from. To be more precise, crafting and selling online courses are in my opinion, one of the most difficult methods to earn money online.

I think if you have the time to make a lot of posts on Discussion bucks and similar sites, it can be beneficial as a money maker.

However, I’d honestly say being on content team is more profitable.

How much can you make, though? I like to post on forums, and am a member of like 50 different ones, but I do it for enjoyment. If I was doing it just to make money, it would become like a job, and then I'd stop enjoying it. :(

I would rather have suggestions on the best ways to make money online. :) So far poker has been my best option for making money online. But I do sell things and am always looking for better places to sell items. I've tried ebay, marketplace, nextdoor, and craigslist and they just aren't cutting it.

Some forums have a credit system where you earn credits for posting on forums that order packages. For example, earning 2,500 credits might translate to $25.

I agree with you—if it feels like a job, it can take the fun out of it, which is why it’s best to treat it as something to do in your free time.

Usually, forum owners order packages from other niches, which can sometimes make the task more interesting and easier to manage.

Yes true. But I'll still feel pressured. hehehe

Some of the really low end content writing jobs (e.g., bulk content, forum posting, cheap ad copy, etc.) can be soul-destroying. Those stupid paid surveys too are pretty bad too.

Agreed. I don't do those paid surveys.

I was a moderator on that platform for a very long time. I mean, since it was with the first owner. Making reasonable money there is unachievable.

Out of curiosity, what kind of income potential does Discussion Bucks offer in real world terms?

I've done at least a couple like those in the past (e.g., Postloop and ForumWheel) and the policies and pay were atrocious. The payouts were a fraction of even some of the crappier content mills. (Postloop, unsurprisingly, bit the big one years ago.)

The posting rates are pretty low on Discussion Bucks. It takes a long time to earn a $1.

It’s a lot easier to make money as a content writer on an admin forum, posting content on other forums, which is similar to the concept of Postloop.

For example on one admin/webmaster forum, the pay rate is:
  • I.e. for 10 posts it is 75 Credits
  • for 5 threads it is 75 Credits
  • for 5 comments it is 75 Credits
  • for 1 article written it is 750 Credits

@Cpvr The work you have to put in to post on small payment forums is like an endless task. Also, working as an online freelancer becomes hard because you must compete with thousands of other applicants on these platforms. The pay stays low and the job availability remains unstable so it's hard to build sustainable income from these activities.

I did make around $300 for building a website for someone. And it wasn't even my best work. lol I wish I knew more about PHP and such and could freelance. There is a definitely a lot of money in that!

Can you send me a DM?

I think it might be easier to find work on Reddit as they have various freelancer sections where you can advertise your services. I know there’s sites like Upwork, Fiverr, but Reddit might be the best place to find work as there’s a lot of traffic on there.

How does Forumfiller compare to Postloop and Theforumwheel though? Is the pay rate decent?

Forumfiller is just a little better. I don't see any significant differences.

Do you have any experience using forumfiller? I miss postloop it helped me grow my old forums easily, and I'd earn credits for free.
