Do you ever think that it takes luck to win at playing poker? Honestly, Poker is 100% a game of skill in the long run where mathematically superior decisions helps you to win. Maybe those playing to win on short term is where luck plays its hands more often.

What are your thoughts? Do you think poker is a game of luck?

I don't think it's a game of pure luck. I'd say 70% skill, 30% luck. Sometimes you can play perfect, but if you don't get lucky at the right times there goes your tournament.
It takes a lot of discipline to have success in poker for the long term.

You need a bit of luck as well to win. It is not always easy to rely only on skill when your rivals are also good with their skills. So, you will definitely need some luck to achieve success in the poker game as well.

I believe anything that involves placing bets has to do with luck. Of course skills is required, but even then winning is not always assured. I'd say poker is about 80% luck.

There is obviously some luck involved. Usually more skilled players will earn more over time. Luck can sometimes be sad. I have seen a lot of new players catch a big win early when they didn't know too much about the game. They they go on to spend most of their lives losing convinced that they are a good player who is the victim of a ton of bad luck when in reality they got lucky once and didn't know any better.

I’m one of those who do not entirely believe that Poker is a game of luck like some casino games. I have confirmed that it's a game of skill. If you are sound mathematically, you will outperform your opponent.
