I haven’t really played tournaments, but based on my observation I can say bankroll strategy in tournament needs to be more conservative because of higher variance.
I play cash games, and generally speaking I’stick to around 20–40 buy-ins since results are more consistent and I can reload anytime.

Tournaments is quite sweet and interesting until variance hits you 😂. I keep a small separate bankroll, because if you mix it with cash games, confusion will starts to set in. I just set limits and respect it, if not you would get frustrated.

I’ve never really played tournaments, so my experience is mostly with cash games. For cash games, I stick to a more steady bankroll approach since you can reload and control session length. Tournaments seem like a different mindset entirely with variance and long waits, but I just haven’t tried them yet.
