Yes, absolutely. A poker bankroll is for playing. An emergency fund is for life.
When you mix the two, you start making bad decisions at the table, because financial pressure pushes emotional play. When you separate savings for real-world expenses, you play with clearer judgment and handle variance responsibly.
 
An emergency fund outside bankroll is not even optional again. It's a survival strategy. I’ve seen people start chasing impossible wins because rent is close or data subscription finished. Once real life pressure enters your poker game, your thinking is distorted already.
 
You certainly need emergency funds outside poker bankroll. You have bills to pay and you need personal funds. Generally, I do not fill my my bankroll if it gets depleted until the next month.
