How did you get into Poker? Any beginner tips?

I have played all sorts of card games growing up, New Market being something for fun but I haven't ever really gotten into playing Poker. My son has an interest in playing, which has seen us play a few hands together but it's not something I would say I am all that good at.

How did you get started playing? aside from practising, what tips do you have?

I started with a home game with my parents and then I started playing freerolls online until I built my confidence to play for real money.
