Poker as it Relates to Probability and/or Statistics

Who has studied probability and/or statistics? Have you been able to relate it to playing poker? Myself, I am certified to tutor many math subjects, but unfortunately, I haven't gotten a probability or a statistics certificate yet. It's something I would want in the near future.

No matter the probability regarding other things, a large bankroll is probably the most important thing. Who else would agree? Why might it be more important?

I have learnt to calculate pot odds, so that I can use better judgment at the table. I have also used statistical analysis in reviewing my game and finding places to be better.

Am a average mathematics student and know probability fairly well. Probability will give a player a better judgment but that does not mean that the player will be more successful than others. Probability is all about chance and chance is a direct result of luck.

Probability and statistics is part of poker, based on my understanding. Knowing the odds or the probability of your opponent having a certain hand can give you an edge in the game for real. So, the more knowledge you have in probability, the better your decisions will become.

I’ve learned enough about pot odds to apply them to my game and calculate my outs, which helps me roughly estimate my chances of improving my hand.
