Why Do Some Players Chase Losses Even When They Know Better?

Even when players understand poker strategy, losing can trigger emotion that overrides logic. Chasing losses often comes from frustration, ego, or the feeling that “I need to get it back now.” Once that mindset kicks in, decisions shift from long-term thinking to short-term recovery.

What Makes Some Players Bluff Too Often Even After Getting Caught?

Some players overbluff because they focus more on the idea of aggression than the actual outcomes. In poker, getting caught doesn’t always change habits immediately if they believe the bluff was “correct in theory.”

What Will Happen to Poker Strategy When Everyone Uses Solvers?

If everyone used solvers, poker would become more about precision and small edges than obvious mistakes. But players won’t play perfectly, so the real edge will still come from spotting deviations, exploiting human behavior, and adjusting faster than others in real time.

How do you deal with losing streaks, and what strategies help you stay resilient?

During losing streaks in poker, I try to separate bad play from bad luck instead of assuming every loss means I’m playing terribly.

How important is position at the poker table, and how does it influence your playing strategy?

Position affects almost every decision in poker. Being last to act lets you see how others respond before committing chips, which makes bluffing, value betting, and pot control much easier.

Can poker strategy make you a better poker player?

Poker strategy gives structure to your decisions instead of relying purely on instinct or emotion. Once you understand things like position, pot odds, bankroll management, and player tendencies, the game starts making more sense.

How do players typically read their opponents’ tells during a live poker session?

Live poker players usually look for small behavioral changes rather than dramatic tells. Things like unusual hesitation, quick bets, nervous chip handling, posture shifts, or sudden silence are common tells. But most experienced players rely more on betting patterns and timing.

What are common mistakes you often notice by new or inexperienced players?

Qhen I was new, I was playing too many hands because I didn't want to sit out and wait. Based on my observation, I also see a lot of emotional decisions, like chasing losses, calling out of curiosity, or bluffing in bad spots are some if the common mistakes committed by new players

What are the most common strategies used by experienced players in live poker games?

Experienced live poker players usually focus on patience, position, and reading the table instead of forcing action constantly. They value bet strong hands, avoid unnecessary risks, and pay close attention to betting patterns and player behavior

    Are online poker games fixed?

I don’t think major licensed online poker sites are fixed, but I understand why people get suspicious during brutal variance swings or bad beats. Nevertheless, I also avoid shady or unregulated poker platforms completely.

What’s the biggest difference between micro stakes and high stakes online?

The biggest difference is usually discipline and mistake frequency. At micro stakes, players make obvious errors constantly, like calling too wide or chasing bad spots emotionally. Higher stakes online poker feels much tougher because players punish mistakes faster.

What will make you quit a poker site immediately?

Anything that makes the site feel untrustworthy would make me leave fast. Delayed withdrawals, shady terms, poor customer support, obvious bot activity, or sudden account restrictions without explanation are huge red flags.

Choosing the Right Online Poker Site

I usually look at reputation first because trust matters more than flashy promotions. After that, I check traffic, game variety, software quality, withdrawal reliability, and how responsive support is. A poker site can have great bonuses, but if cashouts are slow or the games feel shady, I’m not...

What are common mistakes players make in online games?

A lot of online poker players play too many hands because the game moves fast and there’s less social pressure to stay disciplined. I also see people tilt easier online, bluff too often against calling stations, and multitask so much that they stop paying attention to betting patterns and timing.

    Do you trust online poker?

I trust the bigger, licensed online poker sites reasonably well, but I’m still cautious. There’s always some skepticism around bots, collusion, or unfair games, especially on unknown platforms.

Should the "One Player to a Hand" rule be strictly enforced in casual home games?

I think the “one player to a hand” rule matters even in casual poker games. Friendly comments are one thing, but constant advice or reactions during a hand can influence decisions too much. Keeping everyone responsible for their own play just makes the game feel clean and fair.

How do you play against someone who is clearly using a solver on their phone?

If someone is constantly checking solver outputs, I’d keep my game simpler and focus on solid fundamentals. A lot of players using solver-based poker still struggle once situations become messy, emotional, or outside the exact spots they studied.

How is Poker Different From Rummy?

Poker feels more psychological to me because you’re constantly dealing with betting pressure, bluffing, and reading opponents. Rummy feels more focused on building combinations and tracking discarded cards. You need skills ro playbthese games, but poker usually feels more aggressive and...

I haven’t played Casino War. I’m curious to explore the game though as I have hea6about it from a lot of people

What’s one strategy "myth" you believed when you first started?

When I first got into poker, I thought aggressive players were always the strongest players at the table. After playing more, I realized a lot of aggression is just pressure without real balance behind it.
