Is the poker profession a respectable one?

I think if you're going to get into poker you gotta man up (or woman up) and take things like an adult. You can't complain about whatever is unfair. It reminds me of that scene on "White Men Can't Jump" where Woody Harrellson says "Under no circumstances do you ask for the money back", lol.

    Video Poker vs Real Poker

What is harder? What do you feel is more fun? Have you tried both or one or the other? How would you compare them? How would you compare poker machines, poker video games, and real poker to each other?

    Is Poker hard

I don't think learning video poker is hard. However, learning how to be some expert player would be hard, and on top of that, you need a large bankroll. Anyway, who has tried books on poker strategy? Has anyone tried something like "Poker for Dummies" (I don't know what the real name would be.)?

What's the longest you've been out of playing poker?

I'm not doing video poker now and I haven't done it since probably 2007, at the least. I haven't even played any video game versions. Well, it was becoming a problem as I wasn't winning, so it was just foolish.

Have you ever won a Royal flush before?

I've only done video poker. I don't think I've ever gotten a royal flush, but I have seen someone else do it. He (my companion) got a royal flush on some machine in Saipan (a pacific island), but the bet was only 25 cents, so it didn't mean much, lol.

Do you think poker is more of a men's game?

I don't think the gender thing means much these days. That's just a throwback to the USA 1950s and all the images of Frank Sinatra or something, lol. Anyway, though, I am just speaking from an American perspective. I don't know about other nations.

When was your first experience in poker?

I was living in Saipan, a pacific island, in the 2000s. There were many poker rooms there and also a casino on a nearby island. I got into a little gambling there because that was part of the culture.

Is gambling addiction rooted in some medical problem?

I don't know much about gambling addiction. However, though, I can reason that some disorders that relate to mania or compulsiveness might lend to gambling addiction. How much do you think they do that?

How popular will poker become in the next 10 years?

The world is getting into a lot of robot technology, so there will be more lost jobs I think, and, in that case, I see people getting desperate, turning to other ways to make money. It's actually sad, really. Gambling is supposed to be for fun, not desperation.

How to Get Out When Your Winning Are Too Much

The house is supposed to always win. They don't like it when people just keep winning over and over. In fact, they do everything in their power to stop it. They employ technology, experts, you name it. Anyway, what about the situation when you've won a lot, so casinos are suspicious, like we...

What do you enjoy about poker the most?

I like the skill involved in video poker. It can be a lot of fun and there's nothing like the thrill of getting that Royal Flush. Has anyone experienced that? Who has experienced that when they put a large bet on the table, lol?

Comparing Ethics of Gambling to Stock Investing etc.

Some might criticize the ethics of gambling. They might say it's a low-life culture that surrounds it, that it foolishly wastes people's money etc. (for instance, some family man/woman with kids to feed). However, how can people say this when investing in online business, stocks, whatever can...

Can You Make a Living Playing Online Poker?

I agree the bankroll is very important. However, it can't be all that is needed or, otherwise, the gambling businesses would get trashed by all the pro-players. Do you all agree? Why do you feel that is the case or not?

Is poker a game of skill or luck?

Actually, I think even more games than poker are a mix of skill and luck. For instance, I think probability is involved to some degree in hitting a 3-pointer in basketball etc. Anyway, (regarding sports and games) you can't have one without the other, so, of course, skill plays a big role.

    The Movie 21 and Poker

Yeah, I wasn't paying attention to what game they were playing. I was just noting it was some sort of Las Vegas card game. Anyway, I know nothing of blackjack at all. What is one major difference between it and poker?

Do you enjoy poker or only play for the money?

Yeah, I really can't stand people who gamble away money that is for family use; that is really despicable. It's good you have the right priorities. Anyway, gambling addiction definitely eats away at money better spent elsewhere.

    The Movie 21 and Poker

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21_(2008_film) The movie 21 was a lot of fun, in my opinion. I really enjoyed it, and I wondered how these math whizzes could possibly overturn the house. Anyway, there have been real life stories of this happening. Who has heard of them?

How do you feel about players talking trash while playing poker?

It's good to have fun, but in serious games, like at Las Vegas, it might be a bad idea. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if there were rules against it. Anyway, the atmosphere at Las Vegas, for instance, is very paranoid. There are cameras everywhere and experts employed to make sure nobody...

Should poker be considered a sport?

It's as much a sport as chess, so I don't see why it wouldn't be. However, though, gambling has a bad rep, associated with a low-life culture, no offense to anyone, so it could be uphill battle for acceptance. Anyway, jazz music was once associated with low-life culture, but now it's...

Do you feel video poker machines are incorrupt?

In the political world, many people are cynical about voting machines, so why wouldn't video poker machines be up for scrutiny? In fact, why wouldn't all gambling machines, like slots, be up for scrutiny? Anyway, who knows anything about how these machines work? Would you trust your money...
