Do you enjoy poker or only play for the money?

I have only played poker for fun because I am not skilled at it. In addition, I don’t want to risk losing money over poker, as every cent counts for me. I am the sole provider for my parents, especially since my dad has dialysis sessions three times a week.
Yeah, I really can't stand people who gamble away money that is for family use; that is really despicable. It's good you have the right priorities. Anyway, gambling addiction definitely eats away at money better spent elsewhere.

I love poker, I definitely don't only play for the money. I have a very analytical mind, so the mathematical and calculation side of the game plays to my strengths and makes it more enjoyable for me.

That being said, if I was a fish regularly losing money, I'm sure I probably wouldn't enjoy the game quite so much. :p

I actually got into poker because I learned that it helped to develop people's minds and their thinking. As I progressed and gained some skill in it, I try to see if I can make money off it too. It is not all about the money for me in poker. It is more about the fun of the game and the mental stretch the game gives. If I risk to bet and win some money, it is fine.

Am still learning, therefore i simply play for fun and learning purpose.Perhaps in the future i may be playing for the money. Now, it is all about fun and learning. I think that is the reason i only go for freerolls until i become professional.

I support your opinion that anyone learning how to play poker should play for fun at the moment. It is how to keep it going before you can now begin to play for money. I mean if you decide go start playing for money when you are not very good at it, you will end up making lots of mistakes.

I play mostly for fun, The money is nice when I win, but I'm not trying to pay my bills with poker. I just enjoy the strategy, the social aspect, and the thrill of making good reads. If I was only focused on money, I'd probably get too stressed and play worse anyway.
