A good strategy will always take you far to a place that no one is expecting you to reach. As a poker player, having the right plans will surely earn you the respect that you ask of.

You can definitely improve your game by studying poker, and discussing poker strategy with other players. I would only take advice from winning players. Some advice may be harmful to your game.

Been a better player doesn't translate to a winning player. Every strategy in any game whether poker or football is to achieve one major aim, to be a winning player.

i think you need to have some sort of basic strategy, failing to plan is planning to fail as my mum would tell me. bless her

100%. In poker, it is all about strategy because you could easily differentiate the professionals from the amateurs. Position play, reading opponents, pot odds, these are not just ordinary terms but are needed for survival at the table.

I have been working hard to be very efficient with my preflop ranges and postflop equity calculations. I have really focused to always stay balanced in playing poker. I am trying to play poker without leaving tales for my opponents to capitalize on. And I am heavily invested in the mental aspect of my poker game too.

Learning better strategies can certainly make you a better poker player. Poker is not just a game or luck like other card games, it is also a game of skills. If you have skills, you are likely to win more.

The best tactic is keeping things simple and calm. Position helps, bankroll discipline helps but staying clear-headed is what really improves your play. When you don’t rush or chase losses, your decisions get better and the results follow.

You actually nailed it. Keeping a cool head is very underrated but that’s what you need as it might actually be the biggest edge you've got. Once a player stops chasing losses or gets carried away by small wins, the whole game would just look clearer.

Can someone become successful in playing poker without studying and learning how it's done by professionals in the game? Doing that without the knowledge is operating in the dark and it can only be backed with a devastating loss.
