In poker, the right starting hands are essential. You could be frustrated and lose huge money from a poor hand. By making a solid starting hand strategy, you can focus on the game rather than making easily avoidable mistakes. How can a beginner choose the right starting hands?

It's better for new players, and in general to play tight. Opportunities open up when you start winning with strong hands. If you play tight, you'll pick up information by watching/studying the play at your table, and maybe you can expose a weakness in players during future hands.

Choosing carefully based on the first hands and limiting early position is crucial. In strong hands, beginners should always hold AA, AK, AQ, while the rest are folded. Attention should also be paid to position too.

New players should play tight and choose the best starting hands first, which is a good tactic at the start. This will give them an opportunity to at least mark each player at the table before you find some weakness to exploit in later hands.

Life is like a game of poker: it is not about what cards you are dealt, but how you play them.
