Based on my experience while I was just getting into poker, I made some mistakes as a newbie. It's okay to make mistakes because it's part of the journey to becoming a pro. Learning from your mistakes makes a big difference.

As a new bird, avoid the following costly mistakes:

1) Don't chase losses.
2) Don't play with many hands.
3). Avoid overbetting or underbetting.

These few steps will get you started on a better note if you're new to poker.

New players also fold on the flop way too often. They also don't consider position enough IMO.

I believe another problem that most new poker players face is lack of composure. Most opponents can detect a newbie by their body language, resulting in the opponent predicting their next move.

I have seen quite a lot of new players giving away their emotions through their body languages. This is why it’s important to keep calm as this can help you hide your feelings and make it harder for others to guess your next move.
