Many of us will have been playing poker for many years and we will have either made mistakes that we are now aware of or seen other players make mistakes that we know could have been avoided.

What are some of the common mistaken you see players make that you know could have been avoided if they knew?

Playing poker if they are on tilt or if they or tired because you will likely lose money if you play while you are on tilt.

A big mistake I have seen is that the players chase loss instead of walking away. It is a bad idea to have the notion that you need to recover your loss bet and not know when to stop.

Sadly, a lot of newbies and even veterans in poker still make this mistake. The fact is that there are days where you won't be cut to doing your very best when we are talking about making it while playing poker and the best thing that one is expected to do is to quit for the day.

The reason is that you may end up not achieving whatever you aim to do at that point even if you keep playing and it makes no sense to keep losing money when you should have stopped playing.

A common mistake players make is getting emotional or bluffing too much. To avoid this, stay calm and stick to your strategy. Don’t chase losses, know when to fold, and pay attention to your opponents. Staying disciplined and patient really makes a difference in improving your game.

I think one common mistakes people do is playing too many hands. They also ignore position. Chasing losses and bluffing without a plan are also common among players, which I think are not very good strategy. You need to stick to solid starting hands, respect position, and managing bankroll strictly.

One common mistake is playing too many hands, thus will cost you a lot. Poor bankroll management, chasing losses, and emotional decisions are other mistakes. You can avoid these mistakes by being selective, staying disciplined, and setting limits.

I’ve seen players lose a lot just by playing too many hands, chasing losses, or ignoring position. The fix is simple discipline: play fewer weak hands, accept losses calmly, and focus on making steady, logical decisions instead of emotional ones.
