Poker is considered as gambling which can go either ways. It can pay you or wreck you financially. Have you been down financially which had you to borrow money to finance your play? How did the game go?

Did you win or end up adding more debt for yourself?

That would be so stupid of me to do that kind of thing. There is no reason for me to decide to borrow just to play poker. What will happen when I lose all?

I've borrowed money, but I've never borrowed money to deposit on poker. I have been staked into a few buy-ins online in the past.

Never, I make initial deposits and generally rin it up without having to release. Not always but usually.

I have never done it and would not advise anyone to do it. I generally have two rules when playing poker concerning bankroll.

One, only play with/bet what you can afford to lose and two, do not lose another person's money because you cannot afford it.

Losing someone else's money puts you in a terrible position no matter how you look at it, especially if it is a significant amount.

I would never borrow money to gamble with. The outcomes aren't given.

I have borrowed (and use margin) to invest with though.

I took out a 5 figure loan to purchase silver at $24-26 an ounce and the interest rates are now in my favor with the price it is. I'll also use margin to swing trade with. At least with stocks, it is a gamble, but the likelihood of losing it all is very small unless you're taking a huge risk by investing in companies on the brink of bankruptcy; though, you could also borrow to short that bankrupt company and make bank on it going bankrupt.

I can't possibly do that. No assurance that you're going to win because you need some luck to triumph in the game. That's a recipe for disaster. If you keep in mind that you still need to pay off debt, it will cloud your judgment and lead to poor play.

I don't think I'll do that. I've never borrow to finance poker. The only reason is that it's unpredictable. So, it's advisable not to take loans for poker. It just doesn't make sense chasing losses with borrowed money. I always strive to maintain a healthy financial mindset.

Yeah going into debt for the sake of poker is synonymous with digging ones grave.
