Did you start with play money before playing real money poker?

I personally think playing poker for play money is a waste of time if you want to gain any real experience. You need to play against players that value their chips/money in order to improve.

I did start playing with play money many years ago on Pokerstars. I even remember trading play money for real money(not sure if there is any sites that still do that), but I ended up turning to freerolls, and working myself into grinding for real money.

How about you? Did you go straight to real money poker or start with play money?

I have tested with free money that offered by the poker website, but after that used real money and lost. I heard in other communities that they won by playing Poker. It is one of the toughest games for us to win.
I had used BTC for playing Poker online.

Our Government is restricted in thesed online Poker and gambling sites.

I love to play video poker video games. In that case, I would advise people to improve skills that way before using real money. However, though, I'm not sure how realistic the computer/video games are, so don't take my advice without research.

It is the best approach to start with play money. It lets you learn the game without any financial risk. Many successful players started playing with freerolls and low stakes before the advance to high stake games and they only did that when they had enough experience in the game.
