ICOs or Initial Coin Offering is like IPO in stock market. When a crypto project is launched, some coins are given to early investors for a low price. This is usually before crypto is listed in the exchanges for trading. However, unlike IPOs that are provided through a regulated board, IPOs are issued by private companies, therefore, investing large sums in ICOs is highly risky and prone to scams.
