I only play poker when real money is involved, but regardless of the stakes/game I try to have fun while playing.

Do you play poker for fun or are you all about the money?

I'm happy with the money that comes wiith being a successful poker player. I started taking poker seriously when I felt too old to continue playing competitive sports.Poker fills that void. So yes I do enjoy it.

Let's be honest, nobody plays poker without the desire to win. So I'd say that to an extent, everyone plays it for the money. It's just that some don't feel bad even when they lose. The fun they have while playing is enough I guess.

While most players aim at making a win, they also play for fun. Some of them are concerned more about the recreation. They are just fine with it because they love the game.

I enjoy playing poker. But I enjoy playing good poker! I don't like playing games where people are constantly allin with anything and everything. And not fond of playing the local live games where people don't know how to play. But I do enjoy the money too! (even though I don't make a lot of money at it)

Poker is more fun when you're winning. I noticed you're one of the better players, even though we haven't play together too much.

Thank you! :)

Unfortunately, I don't get a lot of time to play poker this time of year. I deal casino games for casino party companies and November, December, and January is our busiest time of the year.

Poker is fun when I'm winning. I enjoyed it more when I'm on top of the game. The mental and physical aspect of game is what I love the most.

That’s awesome! How long have you been dealing for casino party games? How did you get started in that field?

I have been dealing parties for about 13 years. It is the most Fun job I have ever had! If you are interested in dealing, there are companies all over the place, especially in most large cities. And all of the companies I know of will train you too. There aren't usually enough events to make a living at it, but it is a Very Fun way to make extra income!

The way I got started is kind of odd and a long insignificant story. But if you want to start, I would suggest doing an online search for casino party companies in your area and look at their website. Look at their equipment in the pictures. Pick one that has nice equipment, denominated chips, and good reviews. Most of the dealers I know deal for multiple companies to be able to make enough money. But a lot of companies don't allow their dealers to work for other companies. So, you will want to consider that when picking a company. Also, companies pay ranges vary greatly. Where I live, they pay anywhere from $50 to $150 for a 4 hour event. (events are usually 4 hours, but poker tournaments can be longer and pay even more)

Feel free to ask me questions if you want. I would love to help you get started!

Honestly, both. Different venues, different vibe, different focus — naturally. But I love the game. Well, that and other gaming (e.g., blackjack, roulette, et al.). But there ain't nothing like poker, just for fun or for the greenbacks.

At the moment, I'm someone who only try as much as possible to enjoy playing poker for the sake of fun while being happy to win money at it too. Playing this way have reduce my disappointment when I don't win.

That is the right way to play poker, I have to admit it. By being able to take the focus off from merely just winning to enjoying oneself while playing without a worry of losing money will reduce the amount of stress or tension in the game.

i play fo
r the money

If you're playing poker only for the money, when you're not winning, that's going to make you feel so bad and you will hate playing. It's why playing for fun is the right thing to do.

Oh yes! The prior generation of my family played poker literally all night, quite often. Poker and various other card games remain a tradition for us to this day. :)

I would never gamble at this point in my life. However, playing for fun is a possibility and if I can't find people willing to do that (and probably I wouldn't lol), I would just get a computer or video game.

Note: my reasoning for my answer is that I'm having a rough time with finances. I have many family obligations, so gambling is foolish.

I have only played poker for fun because I am not skilled at it. In addition, I don’t want to risk losing money over poker, as every cent counts for me. I am the sole provider for my parents, especially since my dad has dialysis sessions three times a week.
