Whenever you're playing poker, do you have a winning target that you focus on meeting? What's your target like? Do you set a weekly winning target or bi-weekly or monthly target?

If you don't meet your target when you're supposed to, do you keep playing until meet it or stop to carry it over another time?

I always have a "session target" when I start playing poker, and I think any good player should have outside of tournament play.

The session target may be to double my bankroll if I'm on a relative "high-roller" table for me, or if I'm playing low stakes it may be to 100x my buy-in. My golden rule is simply that as soon as I hit that target, I finish my hand and stop playing. I've seen and heard of many players playing beyond their targets, suffering a full-on tilt and losing everything.

I have a goal in my mind, but I don't have a timeframe on which I need to complete my target. If you focus on results it can be bad for your game.
