I've seen some people who always post their poker winning across their social media accounts on different platforms. I don't think it's a good habit because you're making an announcement no one asked you to do especially when it involves money.

Do you post your poker wins online?

I don't post all my wins. I try to only post my bigger wins in MTT's. Top 3 or better depending on the payout.

I wish more of our members would share their online poker wins in our media section. ;)

I choose not to share my poker victories online for some reasons. When people show their poker winnings online, they have succeeded in inviting unnecessary publicity which can create discomfort in others especially those who are struggling to win.

Posting such publicly on social media platforms is like posting your bank account statement online. It's always going to attract unwanted attention which might not be good for you. It's why I don't do it.

I do not play poker to make money, so I have nothing to share online. Even when I do win, I prefer to keep it private. I want to avoid attracting attention, especially from undesirable people.

I don't really share my winnings online, because it feels a bit too much like bragging. Not that I make an awful lot, but it's a nice side income at least. :p

Nothing frustrates me more than seeing the so-called poker "influencers" posting their massive wins and bankrolls - yet you don't hear a peep about the thousands they lose on other occasions, or you don't hear a peep from them when they eventually disappear from the scene altogether because they've bankrupted themselves. lol

It also brings envy and jealously.

A lot of people believe that your winnings are truly your current income, which usually isn’t always the case.

I like to post my wins to track my progress as I grow my bankroll. If someone gets envy or jealous, so be it. If you put in the work, and work on your game you'll get results. I don't mind posting my losses either, especially if it was a tough hand/decision. Maybe I can learn from it, and fix a leak in my game.

I don't post my winning on social media. I think the publicity is not necessary. I will not like some people to be seeing me as gambling addict or freak. Am living in a society where gamblers are considered criminal minded people. Gambling should be done with discipline and decorum.

I also see it happen on social media. People brag about their earnings, like "I made this from social media, I made that,". It's humble beginnings too me, not necessarily related to gambling, but I don't find it necessary to post your income anywhere online.

It's best to keep things secretive. However, when it pertains to driving in new players and referring them to your favorite poker platform, I do agree that posting your earnings is a great way to invite new players in.

That's the only way I'd do it, as it's a great approach and very inviting.

I see merit on both sides to be honest, poker isnt a team sport its more of a battle within yourself so it is good to celebrate and share success photos as long as its done respectfully. the undiserables or whatever are in all aspects of life not just poker, dont be silly and send money to people who try and befriend you, just be smart with it. it gives me inspiration when i see friends doing well, theres no envy and enough room for all of us to make a dolla here and there. gl all and post some Ws

As you said, the only time it is permissible is only for driving new players or doing affliate marketing or some kind of online business. Apart from aforementioned reasons, it is not properly and reasonable to post winning on social media.

If I were to get a big win, I would post it online, as you never know who may be looking for a solid place to play poker in which they could have some luck too. I think it would be quite overkill to post every win that I got on a poker site, big and small.

Those big wins, though, don't come too easily, so when they do, I wouldn't feel ashamed to share.

A lot of people are good at pretending. They might all be looking like they were happy for you but deep down in their black heart, they hope you never won and wish it was them who won. Envy and jealousy is all most people have to give.

Someone I know have been targeted for robbery because news broke about his winning $1M. This is why it's never a good idea to make it public after winning big on poker.

Being selective of the winnings to post isn't a bad idea when looking at it very closely because it's expected to win if people know someone is a poker player. Posting in a way people would be encouraged to play and not made to feel jealous is the right way to go about it.

No, it's not at all because a lot of people out there actually want to see you fail in anything that you're doing which is bringing you money. It doesn't make any sense to me putting such information in their faces all the time.

There's a saying about the things you need to keep away online -

1. Your source of income
2. Your love life
3. Your next move

I would never put out any of those 3 information online.

Those are great words and I completely agree they shouldn't be shared online for any reason whatsoever in a haste.

A lot of people are looking for information they are going to use against you in the future when they have the chance to. Don't give them that information on a platter.

Yes, it's why I wouldn't ever release any of those information online for any circumstances. I don't need to impress anyone online by posting such information.
