I've realised that poker skill alone isn't enough. Even if I play well, poor bankroll management can wipe out months of progress. Having great poker skills matter and it's very good, but without discipline and proper money management, a player is eventually going to lose everything. It's only a matter of when that's going to happen.

Do you think great poker skills can overcome poor bankroll management?

Bankroll management can save an average player longer than a player with raw skill without discipline. Ive seen people play brilliant poker then lose everything because they kept moving up stakes after one lucky night session.

I'd say bankroll management is just as important as poker skill, if not more. Great players can still go broke if they consistently play above their bankroll. Good bankroll management gives you the chance to survive the ups and downs and let your skill pay off over time.
