Do you guys trust Google Drive, iCloud, OneDrive and all other cloud storage? For me, I’m giving them 70% because it's very convenient, but sometimes I’m afraid that everything might disappear one day or I could lose everything to hacking. But at the same time, storing documents on only the phone or laptop is not safe either.

How do you guys handle your sensitive files?

Put anything sensitive on cloud storage at your own risk. How are you sure they are not spying on such data? I would never save any sensitive data on any cloud storage service. They can't be trusted.

Hell no, never know who has access to that stuff or when they might go online. Keep your important stuff offline and backed up to an external drive.

I would prefer to keep my very sensitive information and files in multiple hard drives than keep them in cloud storage. The only thing about me that is stored in the he cloud are backups of my contacts and WhatsApp messages.

I don't upload anything sensitive to the cloud. I have my own storage for those type of things.

Using cloud storage feels good because it's so convenient but with sensitive files, it's never the best thing to do. All these big corporate companies spy and sell our data. If they get a hold of sensitive data, it's big money for them.

Is there any confirmed evidence of major cloud providers selling users’ actual files? I haven’t seen any credible cases of Dropbox, Google, Amazon, or similar companies reselling stored user data. They typically can’t legally access or sell the contents of your files, and their business model relies on trust. They do collect some metadata depending on their policies, but selling users’ private stored content would be a major legal violation.

No, I usually do not upload sensitive files to cloud storage providers. I am not sure if it is safe or not. However, in the past I have uploaded certain data to these storage providers. As of now, I no longer upload files or data. There is no evidence that suggests that it is unsafe to upload files or data to these cloud storage providers.

Yes I would, but I don't trust gmail. I've been locked out of my emails in the past, because of phone verification to numbers I don't have anymore. I keep backups of PCF regularly just incase.

I have uploaded a few files on Gmail. I have never used any other cloud storage platform. I tried to search for such platforms, but I needed up using Google only. Gmail is still most commonly used platform out there.

I use cloud storage but I don't trust it 100% . I was thinking about it today because my phone storage was full and I had to move files quickly. Convenience is the main advantage, but security is still very impressive too.

This happens all the time. If you lose your account, their support will never do anything to help with the account recovery. I lost my first Gmail account as a result of that.

That is always my concern with such platforms. One may wake up one day only to discover that the platform has been hacked, and that is never the plan that I have right now at all.

In all honesty, I don't trust putting any sensitive files on cloud storage. I'll keep record of those ones myself and can easily put any other regular files on cloud storage.

Google owns Gmail, however, Gmail is not a cloud provider.

It is a email service. Google does in fact provide Cloud hosting for free, for paid depending on what you need.

Some years ago, there was a friend of mine who used Google Drive for hosting but according to him, it was limited.

Did you ever tried that?

Nope I don't trust online cloud storage for sensitive files. I save my sensitive files on external SD cards and off my computer. That way I know they're safe, you just never know if and when cloud storage sites get hacked or if they're not well known, they could just close their doors without informing their customers.
